Cabbages was the eventual chosen name. Most of the bureaucratic faff which the ARA demands has been completed (Safety report, constitution etc...) Sue is dealing with the paperwork at kcs and said she would be sending it off sometime this week.
Once this is done, we have to wait for the ARA to approve of our application at one of the big meetings they have through the year - but we should get approved before the head of the river.
Old Kings Club are paying for the application fee. I've yet to find out about individual ARA cards and memberships (have to have these to row in ARA races) but I expect people will have to pay for these themselves.
When anyone rows under 'Cabbages BC' for the first time, we will have to get you to sign a declaration about water safety (for insurance purposes), but we can deal with that later.
The colours of the blades and kit have also been decided (kcs colours with an added Gold Stripe like from the OKC tie). A number of you have suggested ideas for logos for the club. If someone could produce some final versions of these mock-ups then stick them on facebook so everyone can give an opinion.
Unfortunately I can't change the facebook group name to 'Cabbages BC', so we'll have to stick with KCSBC Old Boys for the moment. Unless there is someone really keen out there who wants to make a Cabbages BC website?!
As soon as I hear from Sue or the ARA I'll let you know the progress of our application.
Dave
